Is Being Naked Better For You?
In this video produced by DNews you will learn about why it is healthier to go nude. Being nude has tons and tons of added health benefits since that is they way that we are put on this Earth. Humans created clothing to protect against the elements, not to be worn every second of the day. It is important to look at the health factors that go into nudism before labeling people who participate in nudism as weird.

Why   Nudism?

Interview

I had the chance to interview a member of the naturist community living in Florida and this is what he had to say.

Name: Billy D. Cook

Current Residence: 422 Marigold Lane Miami, FL 33176

Q: What was your first nude experience?

A: My first naturist experience happened when my wife and I took a cruise to the Caribbean. We did some research on all the stops before we booked it and saw that St. Martin was one of the stops and had one of the most famous nude beaches. When we got there we had already had a couple of drinks that day and we decided what the heck lets just try it out. At first I didn’t feel to comfortable with it and didn’t want my wife being around any other guys. The longer we were out there though the more we began to realize everyone didn’t care that we were naked, they were just enjoying their day at the beach. After that I was able to finally let my guard down and enjoy my day too.

Q: Why did you become a naturist?

A: I became a naturist because it helped me become more confident with my body and who I am as a person. When I was on that beach it felt good to not worry about what kind of bathing suit I was wearing or worry about my body image because there was people out there who looked just like me. There are also tons of health benefits that come with being naked.

Q: Is your current address in a nudist community?

A: No it’s not, I live in your everyday neighborhood

Q: Is it hard to practice nudism with your current address?

A: At home my wife and I don’t ever really practice naturist because our neighbors don’t share the same views as us and our kids. We are not ashamed to say that we belong to the naturist community and our neighbors know we are; we just don’t want to push our ideals on our kids. We want our kids to grow up and make their own decisions, not do something because Mommy and Daddy do it. It is also part of the naturist community to not judge others, and that includes if they don’t share the same beliefs as us.

Q: How do you practice naturism then?

A: My wife and I will take vacations without our kids to some of the resorts that are across the country. Unfortunately, we haven’t been to any outside the country, but the ones that we have visited have all been different and unique in their own way, while maintaining the same essence that everyone looks for at a naturist resort.

Q: What is your favorite activity to do while nude?

A: My favorite activity is hiking. I will wear shoes occasionally if the terrain is rough but that is it. It feels good to feel the sun against my body while I’m getting close to the nature around me. I also enjoy swimming; it feels good to have to water around your body. It feels like taking a giant bath, and usually people’s first nude experience is skinny dipping.

Q: Is it awkward meeting other naturist?

A: I’ll be honest with you, when you’re new to the community it is pretty different meeting people while you both are completely nude. As you get more comfortable with the scene it isn’t as awkward at all. The thing about naturism is people are less likely to judge, everyone is in their most vulnerable form and is trusting everyone else not to judge or attack them.

Q: What is your favorite resort and why?

A: Probably Cedar Trails in Kentucky. Since I enjoy hiking I loved the mountains that Kentucky had to offer as well as the atmosphere. The people that I met there were also some of the nicest.

Q: If you could say something to someone thinking towards someone debating becoming a naturist what would you say?

A: Naturism is a great community to be apart of. It’s a great way to become more confident about yourself as well as get more in touch with nature. Everyone that does it does it because it makes them happy. They don’t do it because it’s the “cool” thing to do or because it’s what everyone else does. Even if you just want to try it once, you don’t have to do it all the time; I wear clothes at home then when I go to a resort I like to be naked. Even though I’m not a member who practices it year round, I still practice naturism and say that I am a member.
